Birds Are Real: Here, There, and Everywhere is a vivid 14-minute work composed for percussion quartet. This piece is an adaptation of the theatrical work, Birds Are Real: Ambush from Ten Directions, for piano and percussion. While the original composition explored the blurred lines between reality and fiction—highlighting the growing threat of misinformation—this piece shifts its focus to the vital coexistence and relationship between humanity and nature. Through a diverse palette of percussive textures and timbres, the work reimagines the bond between the human spirit and the natural environment in an increasingly digital age.

The trajectory of this evocative journey traces the delicate cycle of our connection to the natural world, beginning with the vibrant songs of a bird-filled sky that slowly fade into a haunting silence. Recalling a time when birds and humans shared a profound bond since ancient times, the music then shifts as humanity retreats into an "urban jungle" of glass windows and glowing screens, surrounded by falling trees and smog-choked skies. Yet, through persistent hope and calls for restoration, the haze eventually lifts, welcoming the birds back in a triumphant display of life and harmony. The piece concludes with a bittersweet beauty as the birds take flight for their long migration south, leaving behind a world where humanity has finally learned to live in balance with the earth.
